My Battle With The Roach

Sometimes you are not sure of your abilities and more so when you have debilitating conditions of any time. Imagine when you can’t get your hand up to you face and you need to shoo a fly. I can just imagine the contortions that you might put your face in, and even try using your tongue. But what if it were a roach? My confrontation was not so ghoulish.

My Battle With The Roach

Midnight was near and it was past my bed time

Yesterday I went in too late, I was watching a film on crime

But tonight I didn’t want a repeat of the same

And so I started to bed earlier, at least that was my aim

Turned off the TV and headed for the bathroom

Then before I step in the kitchen, it came from a broom

Like a flash I reached to turn on the light

Eyes stared back at me, it was a ghastly sight

With my greatest haste, which was very slow for most

I reach for the right shoe, tossed it and came really close

The shoe only startled him, he was heading for me

He ran dazed and I feared this creepy crawly

Time seemed to slow and my motion too

How ever quickly I tried to jump my legs wouldn’t come through

Emergency burst of adrenalin came and got to my left leg

Raised just in time for the roach who had no time to beg

One quick lowering, spontaneously

And I smashed the roach impulsively

Could have gotten away but he ran straight under my shoe

He thought MS made Me Slow, so he hazard to run through
