Intruder's Last Night

What would happen if you were the last person up in the night and you quietly snuck into the kitchen but not before noticing and intruder? Do you have enough gumption to pretend to be cool and get something in your hands?

Can you stay cool long enough to hide you fear. If you were successful at defeating your intruder, what next?

Intruder’s Last Night

It was late, I was ready for bed

Night came so quickly and the moon shone overhead

The hue lit the kitchen where I was bound

Running past me, he then hid, low on the ground

Unsure of the intruder, I turned on the light

Didn’t expect what I saw, the frightening sight

Eyes bold and staring right back at me

Revolting and clothed in dark brown, for obscurity

Seconds only, I grabbed missiles

Let go the first but it missed by miles

And he rushed me but before he could get near

Second missile caught its target and he laid there

There was no movement, no obvious heart beat

No blood trail left, the room was still neat

Intrusion was his last and he made me a killer

Got nothing to take out with him, either

Had to find something to disposed of the body

Took a fly swat, scooped the roach up, and ended my agony
