Why Can't They Plant

I was listening to one of  the radio call in programs today again

I just wrote this base on your conversation earlier and I think it is a legitimate question. Why does our society hurt more when a building is ravaged by the winds of a storm but willingly destroy our ecology and natural topography?

Why Can’t They Plant?

We live in a concrete society

Have no regard for flora topography

Yet Global Warming studies suggest

Cultivating green habits will be best

And what do we do to ensure a future

Nurture bad habits that threatens Mother Nature

The new communities we build have no compulsory trees

Technical devices like satellite obviate these

Hardly a garden grown or a manicured lawn

Every home has bricks and all greenery is gone

Years old trees that went back to our ancestors’ time

Pulled down, cut and uprooted and this it’s no crime!

Larceny of Mother Earth, ecology, our children’s legacy

And we are untroubled and continue with no hesitancy

Nothing I say now would amount to more than idle rant

This is a concrete jungle and you ask, Why Can’t They Plant?
