Pronunciations

Usually I don’t get too frustrated when people can pronounce names. I usually have to tell people think KG when pronouncing my name. I understand that Khaidji has little precedence to go on. But when I hear the corruptions of some names that should be more obvious or that you should go to a bit more pains finding out. The ESPN reporter that corrupted the Russian semifinalist at Wimbledon and no.1 seed in Women Tennis is inexcusable. So too would be the announcers and broadcaster mispronouncing the name of President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama

Pronunciations

People will sometimes vary

R added places where there shouldn’t be

Obama’s name is Barack and not the Barrack I often hear

Nation paper even printed Barrack on his inauguration last year

Usually I tolerate slight discrepancies

Not like when people add a “n” to names like De-nise

Calling De-nis, Den-nis is bad and the other way around

I find it hard to hear these without feeling my world upside down

And recently I heard a pro Sports Broadcaster from ESPN

Trashing the pronunciation of Safina, as Sah-fin-nah, so then

I wrote them, got no change; but our own Martin Parris knew

One must say Sah-fee-nuh, he sounded like he had a clue

Now if only I could get people saying Bah-rahk

Sounding as sweetly as Michelle, I wouldn’t feel so out of whack
