Candle Blown Out

My radio hosts shared the news of the death of a very important technician of Calypso from Grenada. Don Charles brought some pleasure to many and lots of pleasure to some.

For this I send my sympathy his family and his circle of friends.

Candle Blown Out

Cold breeze blew through the window that night

And I got up to close it but there was no light

No flicker came from where my candle lay

Dear friend I’m told, he passed away

Life was snatched as quickly as the wind blew

Email confirmed from those who already knew

But what would become of those left behind

Like his family, his many friends and fans of every kind

Or what of Don Charles’ legacy

Will it be like he wanted it to be

No one was as dedicated and cared as much

Only he had that unique and special touch

Under this shadow of darkness I’ll send my sympathy

Tonight I’ll light a candle in Don Charles’ memory
