What tah Waste

There has been an increase of 60% on Water Bills on the island. This is an attempt to recoup the losses that the Barbados Water Authority has accrued over many years.

The water bills which have been unpaid is well into the millions and we therefore understand a need to bring in more money. The problem with this method is that the people who are delinquent are being cover by the loyal many. Peter is paying for Paul’s arrears. This is a Government organization, some how I believe that Government can collect the outstanding debt without penalizing the innocent.. What A Waste, Water Waste

What tah Waste!

With all the rain that falls

How is there so many shortage calls?

An island surrounded by the sea,

Too little water is still our plea!

They tell us we sit on lime stone;

A more permeable rock is hardly known.

How then with these great opportunities

Water is still one of the island’s scarcities?

And why can’t modern techniques,

Save this island’s people their fiscal leaks?

The 60 percent flowing from those who pay

Effectively charging Peter though Paul chooses to disobey
