The Wounded Warrior Project

Men and women return from their tours of duty sometimes prematurely because of injuries they sustained while fighting in wars. These wounded warriors find themselves battling at home with the social bars which now restricts their in healthcare, job opportunities and sometimes, just their general life. Homelessness and joblessness are common. The Wounded Warriors Project attempts to better their lives through it non-profit agenda

The Wounded Warrior Project

The price of war can be

Heinous physical wounds or wounds emotionally

Every battle soldier is faced with permanent scars

Wars can create impenetrable, invisible bars

Our brave men seek to preserve our sovereignty

Uniformed soldiers battle that we may be free

Not expecting that battles on home soil await

Didn’t train for this inevitability, didn’t anticipate

Either with missing parts or a debilitating burn

Drum rolls from brass bands salute their return

Warriors who fought ferociously

Are coming home wounded severely

Returning to us who quickly forget

Refusing to pay them back the enormous debt

In cities they hobble or roll their wheel chair

One takes his seeing eye dog everywhere

Regardless to seen or unseen injury

Payment to these should be more than our sympathy

Returning veterans severely injured should receive life care

Our country should show we are glad they’re here

Just remember the greatest casualty is being forgotten

Even the fruit aren’t left on the shelves until they’re rotten

Care should be taken to insure no social bar occurs

The barriers that make it impossible for returning Wounded Warriors
