Family's First

I write this to my old school friends who went on and made their families. I remember we talked of all things to come but some how parenting was not on my mind.

Many of you turned out to be better men than you were and you deserve all the accolades of success.

Family’s First

Fatherhood is a joy I have never known

A chance to watch till your kids have grown

Making your life theirs and loyally

Investing time for your family

Looking back I remember when we too were children

You like me never thought back then

Someday we’ll have to be raising babies

Fantasized of marriage but not of extended families

I’m proud you made the unimaginable real

Raised your children successfully where others failed

Showed that success comes when we live a righteous way

Today friend I pray you have a Happy Father’s Day

Kids

Kahil Gibran said our children are on loan

I understand this great writer but I’ve known

Devotion and dedication mixed with loyalty and love

Secures a permanency granted from our Father above
