Dead Beat Dads

I know many of my neighbors and friends who for a long time have been dead beat dads. I think the stress of society can have a great toil on the males who may sometimes find it all overwhelming.

I understand when men become dead beat dads and for their efforts to keep hands on and head up, I salute them here.

Dead Beat Dads

Drained from the many hours you keep

Evenings are late and you're restless at sleep

And the next day you do it over again

Drill your body beyond its muscle strain

But you’ll never stop working overtime

Each day you battle the dirt and the grime

A blue collar shirt faded from the sun

Trousers worn out in areas there was none

Dirty shoes you clean when ever you are able

All results of your endless will to put food on the table

Dad I see your exhaustion and hear as you pray

So how can I help make this a Happy Father’s Day?
