It doesn’t take the actual war to separate families. Often families are separated because of threats of war or the preparations in case of war. This means that many military men and women, thousands of them may not see the families for months and sometimes years.

Dads Living Abroad Don’t see my dad he works far away A long time ago duty called, he had to obey Doing his part for our country Soldier assigned to the Her Majesty’s Navy Lieutenant at first but now he’s a Captain I know he’s on a Ship and may never see home again Very dangerous times have curtailed his freedom to stay In the comforts of our home, we may be under threat one
day Navy officers patrol our shores Going around to find any saboteurs Any fleet that dares to attack our sovereignty Bypass our borders and do so unfriendly Reaching my dad can be hard when he is at sea Only special messages are allowed to transmit freely And yet this is very special for my dad is so far away Dad I wish you peace and a Happy Father’s Day |
