Dad You Are The Greatest

Remember the song “Wouldn’t trade Christmas”? Well I wouldn’t trade my dad. He has many things about him that I challenge, daily but there is more love in my dad than anyone I know. His love had guided him all his life and although frustrations have emerged, his love transcend all these things

Dad You Are The Greatest

Dear dad, I wish to say a special thank you

And say how much I appreciate the things you do

Dad, I can’t measure the love you have shown

You are always there for us even now we’re grown

On those times we are moving a bit too slow

Ultimately it is your encouragement that gets us to go

And though you wouldn’t name it as your strategy

Reverse psychology works great at setting a fire under me

Even though you seldom choose to laugh

Those stories you tell are not on some comic’s behalf

How strange you can be sometimes, living in the past

Enjoying reminiscing on your childhood must be a blast

Got such a memory your past is as vivid as yesterday

Reminiscing must bring great pleasure and good mental play

Every one of my friends enjoy you

And they often delight in your quirkiness too

There are many types of dads and if we could choose

Even Presidents and celebrities can’t fit your shoes

So I would choose you dad, I think you are the best,

The ultimate, on this Father’s Day, Dad You Are The Greatest
