Learning English Again

Last year they started pronouncing their text

English started sounding even more complex

AAMOI I listened carefully

Remembered what I heard but it was all garbage to me

Now letters are words, IMBGO I thought

I struggle to understand but AFAIC I can not

Now my children speak and I never know what they say

Got no chance AAR8 so AFIAA

Education should help us to understand

Nomenclatures use by their slight of hand

Give us an awareness to these acronyms they write

Let us at least have a clue upon casual sight

I know we came up speaking dialect

Some of us can write this colloquial subject

How many of our children now have been exposed

All the emails, IMs, texting now twitter keeping them on their toes

Giving them a whole new language while erasing the old

All the schools are considering teaching English as I am told

It makes me glad because I’m forgetting what I knew

Now I can be learning English Again too
