The Wrong Email Address

An email arrive in my mail box this afternoon and it reminded me of a time when I sent my friend birthday wishes only, the email went to the wrong address. Strangely, the person at the receiving end never had the courtesy to say I had the wrong person. This lady Ellen who was returning from her husband’s funeral never realized that she was the wrong person!!

The Wrong Email Address

There were many plans and he was running behind

He’d arranged a vacation with his wife to unwind

Every thing was rush and he left one day early

Winter was biting cold so they chose a place that was sunny

Rooms from their honeymoon now had computers installed

On that evening he typed an email, though he might have called

Neglecting the last letter in her email address

Gave a horrifying surprise to a lady still in emotional stress

Ellen’s husband was a reverend who died from a heart attack

Mail was expected from their relatives, trying to answer back

And to her shock was a letter addressed “To my Wife”

It’s subject “I just arrived” trusted into her like a knife

Love, I know you must be surprised to hear from me

And to receive this email so early

Didn’t have much to do once I had checked in

Dell computers are here and I knew you’ll check your mail bin

Ready for your arrival tomorrow, I can scarcely wait

Everything is in order, this is truly fate

See you soon, I hope there are no complications dear

Shucks! I never expected it to be this hot down here!
