This American Idol

This show catches our interest, probably because many of us believe there is an American Idol inside of all of us. Or we might have a family member or friend that we know if given the chance could easily be a finalist if not the winner of this show.  It’s concerning that the show seems to be becoming just another entertainment piece. And if there is really any morality and integrity in these young artist and the producers of the show, it should be the expectation that people can decline to accept. We had in an earlier series one of the contestants begging their fans not to vote. It seemed like the only way out.

This American Idol

They competed all season but I had long decided

His talent was unmatched and fairness presided

It was not possible to rig the votes in the auditors hands

So judgment is skewed only by the adoring fans

Adam Lambert was the best ever and with awe we heard

Magical genius in song as he interpreted each word

Even songs that we knew and thought them so great

Remixed in an artistry he chose to recreate

I listened each week to hear him alone

Competition never rose to his standard by anyone

Although I watch the other grew in skill

None were as extraordinary as Adam still

It was no real anxiety as we gathered in the living room

Didn’t have any unease, the decision was easy to presume

Only tears flowed that night by the gallon

Lots were distraught when Ryan Seacrest announced Kris Allen
