International Day Of Families

It’s great to have the love of family

No one can feel more blessed than we

Though life had brought challenges each day

Everything was traversed when we learned to pray

Regardless to our troubles we can all rely

Nothing seems bigger than our devotion to the other guy

And when they are down we will be there

To lift them up and show we care

I see my family as my fellow man

Our household will do all we can

Neighbors and strangers, all the same

Are entitled to our love though they don’t share our name

Ladies with their trays struggling to make ends meet

Dads burnt while selling coconuts all day on the street

An old man walking through the gap aimlessly slow

Young kids loitering with no where to go

Or the sick who have a chronic disease

Fit people who comfortably squat at the knees

Family means lending a hand, a back or just a shoulder

An ear to listen to the concerns of the other

Maybe just a smile as you go on your way

Inviting others to smile back every day

Life is great having a family island wide

I enjoy living to meet more, see more and with more abide

Each day I reflect on the love my Lord sees

So together we’ll celebrate, International Day of Families.
