It Is A Crime

Sometimes people commit crimes and we are sympathetic and often we don’t think they should be severely punished.  The trouble with torture is that those inflicting it don’t know that those being tortured really have the answers or the credibility of what their tormented would say. Crime is crime and should be punished. People cannot be allowed to think the end justifies the means

Jack asked Should Democrats hold hearings into Bush torture memos?

It is a Crime

I had a child dying

Though every day I was trying

I couldn’t find work

Soon I went berserk

And wondered in a store

Cans of food and more

Risking it all I got caught

I begged but they would not

My child was taken that day

Erred in crime now I had to pay
