They Flew From Nest

There comes a time when you have to let them go, watch them fly on their own and balance the bike.

Often, this time comes sooner for your kids than for you and perhaps this is where the real problem lies. If we could get together with our kids and arrive at a mutual time that is right then we might eliminate the stress. When this time arrives then we can give it a try and there may be fewer disputes than we currently experience, may be none at all.

I wrote the following for my sister who is experiencing more than the growing pains of young adults

They Flew From Nest

Train a child in the way he should go

Have faith that later he will know

Every turn to make when you’re not there

You must let go when you’ve done your committed share

For many of us something goes wrong

Life bumps on the path you walked along

Eventually knocks your baby from off your knee

When you open your eyes they want a house key

Freely they move with late ins and early outs

Refusing to tell of their whereabouts

Obnoxious in manner like no one you could raise

May be turning away from God and giving Him no praise

Nothing you do seems to be right

Earnestly pray for their protection at night

Seek God’s help for Him to show them the way

They’ll find the way home so have a Blessed Mother’s Day
