Thank You Mother

The opportunity to say thank to ones mother comes every day but it is made easier on Mother’s Day.

Every one can seize this opportunity to thank their mothers for the many years past. All those early childhood problems you cause her, the troublesome teenage years and then when you thought you were an adult but lived under her roof

Thank You Mother

Though I never said it or even showed to care

How much I appreciated you in every year

And how much I know the problems I’ve caused

Nuisance behavior putting maturity on pause

Keeping bad company when you advised against

Your intuition perked by the dangers you sensed

Or not going to church when I became of age

Under new guidance turning a dismal page

Mom I’m sorry! Looking back I was wrong

Once I became a mother too I knew what you felt all along

Though I never said it or allowed you to see

How much I love and respect all you’ve done for me

Every moment with my child I realize you’d shown me the way

Reminds me to say Thank You Mother, Happy Mother’s Day!
