My Friend

It is another generation. My friend’s baby is now grown up into a young adult and we are reunited. I see them regularly but because of my condition, it is only when they come visiting me.

They have been one of the most constant things in my life over the last year and they bring a fresh difference to my otherwise long weeks. I am happy for them both and I salute my friend for raising her kid into the lady that she is.

My Friend

Motherhood came pretty early

You were unprepared yet convincingly

For these 20 years you showed immaculate care

Raised Chacona with love and that she’ll only fear

In God, for God alone will hold

Every key she needs for the preservation of her soul

No stone have you left unturned and by her side you stay

Dear Andrene, I pray you have a Happy Mother’s Day
