A Happy Mother’s Day

A number of types of mothers exist out there

How many, no one knows but one thing they all share

A responsibility for the training of the young

Parenting from birth and adoption and the many unsung

Performing as a mother falls on the society’s ladies

Youngsters are raised by at least one of these

Mothers in the school, the church, the neighborhood

Or aunt, older cousin or any one who would

Train up a child in the way he should go

Have that foundation entrenched that the child can know

Early wisdom brings faith and integrity

Respect for their elders and their maturity

So much of who children are was bestowed by mothers

Doing their utmost for the nation’s sons and daughters

And whether you’re a birth mother or someone along the way
