Faith My Friends

My friend is in hospital and there is not any expectancy that he will again share moments with us at home. But like another friend told me recently when I met her in the bank, having not seen her since the teen years, when reporting on the passing of her sister, she said “The Lord took her…” There was not a note of dissension in her voice. I heard her joy and it was as if we surviving her had missed the cruised to eternal happiness. It was as it should be! I wish all my friend too would see!

Faith My Friends

Forgive me friend that I’m not there

And remember all the great moments we were elsewhere

I was promised a time and place better than these

True greatness and mightiness beyond our memories

How faithful God has been throughout my years

Made me friends like you who shared in laughter and tears

You were there when I really needed you

Friend don’t be disappointed that I’m not there too

Remember His promise that one day we’ll be

In His Kingdom together for all Eternity

Each promise He’s kept before and made my spirit strong

Now you my friend reach to Him, He will right every wrong

Dear Lord I pray with this spirit You’ve given to me

Send the Comforter that my friend today will see.
