I Wish You Were....

The Ads for Paredos are depicting circumstances that find parents abusing kids. In all these ads we can see ways that would have averted the problem. Yet, there are so many broken homes and families. Surely there is a way we can break these cycles of affairs and give our kids and families better lives.

I Wish You Were…

I was promiscuous and got a child

Was kicked out from home and lived poorly styled

I got another son from the father of my boy

Should’ve used prophylactics but he said wouldn’t enjoy

He screamed at the children for the slightest thing

Yelled to the top of his voice, unceasing

One night when from a nightmare the children arose

Uncaringly he grabbed a belt ready to share blows

When I stopped him and argument broke out

Everything was my fault he started to shout

Room after room, he cried out to the kids with blatant scorn

Exclaiming vehemently “I wish you were never born!”
