There has been much outcry to the decision by one of the local banks to start charging $10.00 monthly for all accounts under $1000.00. This would clean out my bank accounts which have been sitting there stagnant for some time now. I kept $50.00 on each of 5 accounts to keep them open but within 5 months all will be gone. Of course it would be more prudent to close 4 of the 5 accounts and save the extra penalty of $40.00, but that takes away the convenience of the accounts under multiple names.
