She Was Indisposed

I was about to turn off the radio and watch some of the boring cricket when the topic caught my ear. It also inspired the following acrostic poem  that I want to share with you.

She Was Indisposed

Sonia was feeling very ill

Had no relief after a prescribed pill

Earlier than normal she left to go home

Was in so much pain she didn’t call her husband Jerome

And when she got there music came from a room

Soft and romantic, she didn’t know what to presume

In pain she went over and pushed the door

No one should be home yet and she thought no more

Daughter Sue was bent over and rested on her knees

In a scream she shouted “Mom, some privacy please!”

Sue’s 18 and her strange older man said not a word

Pulled up his pants and the last thing Sonia heard

One slam of the door and she went off in pain

She buckled from her illness but cried with disdain

Every value she taught Sue was horribly abused

Didn’t know what would become of the trust now terribly bruised
