Just A Blade

I listen to the many ways on the news that simple words destroy great men. I can also remember how as a child I was abruptly deterred with the spoken word. That saying “stick and stone may break my bones but words can never hurt me” has proven time and again to be wrong.

Just A Blade

Just a blade of straw though negligibly light

Ultimately tips a load and can end your plight

Shaving razor blade are light when with a man they compare

This little blade befall a man and sever his air

A blade properly forged and suitably thin

Breaks tissue and can cut bone deep within

Little and light or strong and long

A blade can do good but also great wrong

Doing its worst the tongue, like a double edge sword

Eradicates countries yet at best times its adored
