The Abuse Against Women

Today, I’m writing about abuse. We had a terrible murder a few week ago and I was speechless. In fact you would find my writings were seriously reduced. Then I missed and open the papers and saw a very graphic picture of a horse. I am against the publication of something so graphic even about animals but I am absolutely appalled by the act. It’s hard to accept that crime in Barbados has degenerated to these demonic tendencies

The Abuse Against Women

The horrific death of that 16 years old girl

Had many wondering what has come to our world

Every since we heard how Anna Druzhinina died

A cold wind blew away Bajans’ pride

Bajans never saw locals capable

Unable to perceive anyone of us this brutal

So hearing of the Russian-American bound like this

Evoked all kinds of pictures of imported terrorists

A breed of people who frequents here

Get pass the customs so we need beware

Africans or even men from the West Indies

Infiltrate Barbados from these far off countries

No, it is our very own countrymen

Shamefully raping and brutalizing women

There is abuse rampant here in my community

Women are assaulted verbally and physically

Only today Sen. Sandiford-Garner agreed

Men think they own the women that they married

Endangering the health with the constant abuse

Now men, hear me, on this Independence let’s call a truce
