The Failed Bailout

The stunning defeat of the Bill for 700 Billion to bailout Wall Street and rescue the American from what seems a likely recession, had most of American looking for answers today.

The Failed Bailout

The supporters were sure and they brought it to the floor

Had all certainty that they need debate it no more

Except the vote was shocking, 228 said nay

Failed to get the necessary 218 to pass today

A mere baker’s dozen votes threw the Bill out

Incumbent President Bush had no Political clout

Lots of Republicans, at last count, 133

Elected to vote against the Bill for so much money

Democrats were not so against the Bill

But with the 95 saying nay, they were too many still

Another few votes would have meant the Bill’s success

It would have only required 13 more people to say yes

Loud dissention defeated this Bill but no alternatives

Organized votes against it by the peoples’ representatives

Using their status to secure US today and our futures too

They ensured the failure of the 700 Billion Bailout rescue
