A Strike Like Ike

A dark cloud covered the skies

Sunlight was hidden and distress filled their eyes

This darkness they felt so ominously

Reminded them of peril in a neighboring country

In others hurricanes destroyed the lands far away

Katrina years ago and recently ferocious Fay

Evenings came and with much uncertainty

Lots of folk didn’t get a night’s tranquility

I listened to hear but never heard

Kept hoping for that comforting word

Every radio station was checked for its impending path

I couldn’t believe the meteorologists graph

Kudos to the radio stations who bring the voice of the nation

Ears are glued to every call in radio station
