This Isn't Gold

While listening to the call in radio, I had the television on mute, watching the Beijing Olympics. I can’t seem to get enough of them. I couldn’t hear what was being said but what was happening seemed obvious from the demeanor of the individuals.

This is the first show of disapproval I have ever seen being expressed in this way.

This Isn’t Gold

Today while TV was playing the Olympic news

Had it on mute so I only got the views

It was an athlete with obvious dismay

Shouting and poking in a vehement way

I got the impression that he couldn’t agree

Some one had stolen his victory

Nothing could reassure him and on the medal stand

The athlete receive the bronze with a shake of the hand

Got down immediately to demonstrate his dissatisfaction

One could deduce he expected gold from his reaction

Lights panned and the cameras found

Down he slung his bronze medal to the ground
