Land On Your Feet

I saw how difficult it is as you rise to the top, even in classroom studies. Once you get up there, falling to a lower grade is almost unacceptable yet in order for others to improve and become first in class, you must be dethroned. But even landing to a lower rate requires more class sometimes than rising up a few notches

Land On Your Feet

Learn to land on you feet, don’t turn or twist

And when you’re safe you can pump your fist

No foot movements, just straighten and salute

Don’t step left or right, be fixed, take root

Olympic gymnasts must land on their feet

No one deviates if they want a good marking sheet

You see the tension when they come to land

On rings, the horse, parallel bars, they’re in command

Unable to stick their dismount would bring them stress

Reactions to failure though they were good at the rest

Failure in life is much the same

Every rung up is easy but it’s hard to lose fame

Even if you get wealthy in the midst of defeat

There is much fear unless you can land on your feet
