Emancipation

How can any of us know what we would have been like if we were to change history? How do we know that we wouldn’t have been better off today? What ever we are today we should be happy with what we have.

Emancipation

Earlier before the domestication of dogs

Man fed them scraps together like hogs

And they  competed ferociously for these scraps of meat

Nipping off pieces of each other as if to eat

Collectively they never fought to get away

Independence was never sought though some might stray

People kept them for years and now its like they keep man

A walk, gourmet meals and an inheritance of 12 million

Time has been good to them from bearing Man’s atrocity

It’s a better life now than if they had strived to be free

Once upon a time men kept slaves and pitted them in fights

Now emancipated these men struggle for equal rights
