The Split Second

Things happen so fast you hardly got time to breathe. Sometimes you are lucky enough to catch it in the corner of your eye. In a split second a star can pitch

The Split Second

There are some things that zip right by

How quickly they go with a blink of the eye

Each time they come but are gone in a flash

Speeds faster than the 100m dash

People flick a smile with deliberate finesse

Lasso a horse in 5 seconds and less

I’ve seen a cat catch a bird from the air

Tigers bringing down big game in an attack from the rear

So many things go unnoticed because we were too slow

Eye blinks and the things will swiftly go

Cameras sometimes capture what the eyes couldn’t see

Or freeze the moment for posterity

No one can duck the bullet from a gun

Dodge the things that happen in The Split Second
