Perrenial Mango Tree

Sometimes we are brought together for a similar purpose or need. What ever the reason, when people come together to share commonality, we are that closer to unity. Years ago the standpipe or the street light brought diverse people together and resulted in communities more sociable with each other.

Perennial Mango Tree

Pick one today and tomorrow pick another mango

Eat it when it gets ripe or eat it just green so

Ripe ones on the tree are for the fowl of the air

Egrets, doves, blackbirds, sparrows and others passing here

Natty boys pass too and pelt rocks through the tree

Neighborhood hoodlums go on a picking spree

I wait in my house for a mango to drop

And now it seems like the tree bears non-stop

Lots of mangos sprouting from that one little seed

Mangos satisfying the birds and people with all that we need

And every year our needs get just a little more

Now there are much more people wanting than ever before

Got neighbors to my left and to my right

Once before disinterested but now with might

They listen too and wait and then like a race

Ready to collect mangos in a desperate chase

Each time one drops four homes meet

Eating these mangos have become everyone’s treat
