I'm Living And Breathing Too

How often we go unnoticed even though we play very pivotal roles in the outcome of others successes. If only we can all be treated fairly and give just acclaims for the work we produce and the parts we play, the world would be a better place.

I’m Living and Breathing Too

Crowds come but never to see me

Excited by their chosen celebrity

Never noticing that I was bedecked

Trimmed and outfitted my best ever yet

Rains may come and soon too the covers

Everyone sporting their loyal umbrellas

Can’t remember ever being treated this way

Once I was trampled but not like today

Unending it seemed and I was very busy

Rebounding mishaps and cushioning spills on me

They dug their heels into my regal coat

And jumped and punched without taking note

They cry and I soak up their tears

Whether from victory or their defeated despairs

I’m marked for life although I don’t like tattoos

My coat is torn easily and it’s me who often lose

By their skids and trips and when I brace their falls

Landing as soft as their bouncing balls

Even with the abuse I keep my glow

Don’t want to embarrass them when they’re on show

One day I’ll get noticed for all that I do

Notice as a living, breathing participant too
