You Got No Rights

I sent my opinions to this new legislation in my acrostic poem. I hope it is pertinent to the discussion and that it can stimulate some further conversation.

If we were to improve the family circle then may be we need never have this discussion

You Got No Rights

You had no right exposing me to pornography

On the news stands, radio or on the TV

Using alcohol in front of me ‘til one of you got drunk

Getting flustered and fighting over the same old junk

On many times your friends smoked in the house

They had spiffs on Saturdays after pudding and souse

No right you had encouraging me

Out late at night at that house party

Reveling in the streets on Kadooment day

In the skimpiest of outfits with everything on display

Got no right enforcing some moral choice

Having spent no time listening to the Savior’s voice

Though I’m 16 I’ll give the doctor my okay tonight

Such bad parenting tells me You Got No Right
