Disappearing

The Dead Zone is an ominous name for a movie that offers such a calming fictitious point of view for a theory postulated before by many psychologists. When I first learn that we are believe to only use on average 10% of our brain, straight away I had my own theories but none of them were as captivating as that epitomized in this series. The episode I was watching served to inspire this poem although if you watch it, wouldn’t know why

Disappearing

Do you remember the last time you saw me

I’ve been disappearing gradually

Started by the year, then by the month and now by the day

A little by little, I’ve been vanishing away

People who see me are but a chosen few

Possessing special characteristics an intimacy too

Exceptional closeness which gives them the ability

An insightfulness with each opportunity

Remember my smile that once shone bright

I now spend each day fading at night

None but a few will ever see me

Gradually I’m disappearing from society
