The Impostors

The people who pretend to have achieved greatness when in truth they haven’t even experienced one day of service in the arms forces is now monitored through the Stolen Valor Act which promises to punish with a monetary charge and or jail time. May be this will deter such offenders. I hope it does, especially prevent these impostors from showing up at ceremonial offers plying there deceit.

The Impostors

There he stood so well bedecked

He had medals of valor and some I hadn’t seen yet

Eyes were on him and the room was in awe

It seemed obvious his bravery was without flaw

My young son Rory did what we were afraid to do

Please tell me Mister, were you there too?

One stammer from him came and then a long pause

Surely he would remember his medals were for what cause

Then it was clear he never knew my decease brother

Only those who were in his attachment knew one another

Rory exposed the impostor and his deceiving fact

So now there is recourse for penalty with the Stolen Valor Act
