Stolen Valor Act

Why would some one pretend to have fought in a war. And why take the deception so far as to bedeck yourself in uniform and medals. I just saw four such people all of whom pretended to have served time in the arm forces and to have been given the Medal of Honor for their service.  Thankfully there is a recent legislation that penalizes such offenders.

Stolen Valor Act

Some people pretend to have fought

They dress in uniform and medals they bought

Overtly poising these honors to deceive

Lookers on who honor the valor they achieve’

Exceptional conduct earns the accolades

Navy, army, air force, marine any part of the brigades

Valor so earned should not be so callously taken away

And so Government and the Stolen Valor Act now say

Look out keenly for these soldiers imposters

Once found they may be charged as violators

Revealed as a thief in an unscrupulous crime

And forced to pay thousands or do some time

Crimes of this sort are against country and State

The Stolen Valor Act will penalize those who violate
