Posthumously

Have you ever noticed the kudos given to people who have past away, the buildings that are named in their honor, the highways. These people undoubtedly were deserving of some praise while they were alive. I know that sometimes, as in the case of a war hero or police officer are maybe a fireman that died in the line of duty is too abrupt to have done anything otherwise. But some of these same people may have been living unsung heroes

Posthumously

Putting your life on the line and dying and getting an award

Or being born but your father died before they cut the cord

Some of your works published but you long past away

These are celebrations held posthumously on that day

How often people realize you worth

Unceremoniously when you buried in the earth

Men alive who have done something worthy of praise

Ought to be given accolades before their dying days

Usually though we overlook peoples’ good deeds

Showing little interest in them and their unselfish needs

Life is precious and good people are few

You must show timely appreciation for the good men do
