The 3 R's - Relaxation
I could never
explain to others how I was able to get 2 hours sleep at night for about 20
years of my life and still felt ready to go another long 15 hrs. day. I
discourage anyone from getting into that routine and know now the perils of an
absence of sleep. In fact, whereas I needed the television running to get those
2 hrs., I don’t even try to sleep with the smallest light in a room. I now know
how sensitive the nerves are to the slightest stimulation. When you rest, rest
every part of your body with similar priority, both the internal and the
external. As I wrote this I heard Alicia Keys speaking of the importance of
rest to her and she concurs with me as she films “Fresh Takes”

The 3 R’s – Relaxation Restlessness once got the better of me Each night trying to sleep but it would never be Life stole many years by grabbing these hours And fooled me when I replenished with morning showers ‘Xtra time spent at work with no over time pay All my devotions I give to my work each day That’s now my past , I now sleep well at night I no longer toss and turn in a sleepless fight Once I lay down to rest my head Nothing stops me from sleeping in bed |
