The Audacity Of Hope

The world of America waited with baited breath, anticipating Barack Obama’s speech to be an apology about the Rev. Wright’s very controversial remarks which had been recently publicized profusely. The speech was gripping as Barack successfully changed the game and put a challenging ball into America’s court. This man transcends all other political men and is far more presidential than his counterparts.

The Audacity of Hope

They want us to curb what we believe

Hope is but a tangle web we weave

Exceptional men must be brought down

And their ideas crushed like twigs on the ground

Unrealistic arguments of a contentious few

Dividing races and genders and changing their view

A few determined to weed good leaders out

Campaign against their efforts and wield their clout

Iraq has concerned us unequivocally

There has been uncertainty about our economy

Youngsters are not given a fair chance to learn

Our health care is costing us more than we earn

Fox News and others took short video clips

Had much ado to implicate Barack into prejudicial slips

Obama is genuine and in an admirable speech

Philadelphians were treated by the real values he teach’

Everyone must work together if we can hope to change
