Oops! Credit Due

This is so strange.  Oops! Credit to who said that before. And credit to who said what I’m about to say too. In fact, since I’m using English, I guess every word and phrase may have ownership elsewhere.

I’m starting to feel like a plagiarist even now. Barack, I’m feeling your pain.

Oops! Credit Due!

People may sometimes use

Lines from some other but not muse

And if they do, credit is due

Got to give credit to orators and creators too

I think in a speech this seems unnecessary

All those that use a phrase before me

Recalling them chronologically, those using the words

I’ll have to name the intellects and the nerds

So whenever you speak watch what you say

Men before said those words in the very same way
