They were getting ready to marry

Had lots of plans and were in a hurry

Eager to be joined and tie the knot

Went on and settled for the ring that he got

Except these plans were not meant to be

Diamonds were fake and were bought cheaply

Discerning bride grew suspicious when

It was apparent that he’d been overspending

No jewels for her, his mother got a trip

Got a $10,000 vacation on s cruise ship

Ring may have sparkled but how could he

Invest in such expensive jewelry

Now suspicious eyes are caught in a trap

Gold digger found herself a man who’s money strap
