I Could Not Let Go

I can’t believe how great it was to have the opportunity to see and embrace my friend recently. Sometime, because of the geographical distance between us, it’s almost like we will never share time together. This kind of plutonic friendship is as vital as food.

 

I Could Not Let Go

I saw a dear friend today

Comforting embrace carried me away

Once I felt the loving embrace

Uncontrolled emotions distorted my face

Long since we had seen and how I missed

Doing things together in laughter and bliss

Now for a brief moment I felt it again

Only it was inappropriately bad timing

The time wasn’t one to jump with glee

Leap around and behave stupidly

Excitement was tempered on this day

The embrace came because Arthur had passed away

Got that rare hug, brief moment from someone I know

One embrace and a million reasons why I could not let go
