Where's Democracy

Some question if we should have a right to our opinions. But what is a right? You can always have opinions, since no one can take these away from you but what happens when you voice them. Soon your friends may move away and the doors of opportunity may close on you

Where’s The Democracy

When they cry out do they open their eyes

Have they noticed what the authorities disguise

Electioneering is outlawed by legislation past

Return your placards if you’re from the PS fast

Each radio station prohibits political calls

Stringent censorship to stop libelous downfalls

The public prevented from seeing leaders debate

Hogwash explanations to justify this mandate

Exceptional advantage given to party supporters

Deliberate exclusion of opposing voters

Equality doesn’t show when you go into stores

Management and staff quick to usher you out the doors

Our votes matter at election time and during

Candidates woo us to support their political campaign

Ridiculous promises of certain glitz and gloom

And darker periods follow and you feel doom

Could this really be your democratic choice

You cripple your future when you exercise your voice
