Washed Up And Washed Out

The same thing that builds you up can break you down. Anything in excessive is bad.

When a calming breeze blows over the land we breathe a breath of fresh air

but when winds pick up to hurricane speeds we run around in fear

Washed Up And Washed Out

When I was much younger and at the beach

A wave would come in as far as it could reach

Shore lines were fashioned from the path waves made

Holes and hills sculpted by the sand they laid

Every time the waves came in I’d run right back

Debris would ebb on its returning track

Urchins and anemones and other sea life

Placed to harm you a villain’s knife

All the time growing up I never knew

No shore line safe from the battering pursue

Destruction came from the angry waves

While beautiful beaches grew where a wave behaves

All grown up now and now I know

Societies are battered by tides high and low

How dangerous, angry leaders will change its face

Erode paradises and pollute the place

Daily bites into the most steadfast community

Obliterates the positive and can build negativity

Use caution and when you see societal waves, shout

Trouble comes when waves are washed up and washed out
