Believe Me

This is the very first song I ever wrote that had it’s own melody. When we were much younger we added many verses to popular songs or sung songs to the existing melodies. I never kept any of them. Now I wish I did.  This one was written in the early 90’s.

Believe Me

What if I write to you

To tell you how I feel

Would it make a difference

Cause you know my love is true

And the way that I feel is real

So what would be the sense

Chorus

Believe Me

I could never stop the way I feel for you

You are the only one for me

You’re the only one I see

Don’t you  be leaving

Don’t turn and walk away

Our lives been torn apart

And the days are not the same

We can’t go on living this way

You’re always in my heart

Love plays a stupid game

It sets our minds astray

So….Chorus

If you should come back to me

Tell me you’ll never go again

I promise things would be ..just right

But if I must set you free

Then in love I’ll never ever win

And I can’t make it through the night

So…Chorus
