It's The Right Thing To Do

I’ve spent the last 24 years of my life trying

To make a difference to children now one is dying

She has a rare kidney disease threatening her life

The feeling is overwhelming; I’ll go under the knife

How often this 13yrs. old felt dizzy and in pain

Eager to dance and play outdoors again

Right now Carla, her mom, says she’s lost 85 percent

In kidney functioning so her transplant is urgent

Got this gift of life to give her and hope that she

Have a normal life after the transplant surgery

Told her that from then she’ll always have me around

That I’ll stick to her like flea on a hound

How I’ll donate this kidney from my heart

I’m happy to play this significant part

Now, unquestionably I’ll make a difference to a child
