Phenomenon

Speak up! You never said that! Who left on the stove! How come this door is unlocked? And so many more strange question. Age can creep up on us with unwelcome surprises. None of us can escape ageing.

Phenomenon

Parents sometimes seem infallible

Heroic and at times indestructible

Even saintly in our more infant years

Never failing to comfort away our tears

Old age creeps in and around the corner parents too

My parents are strangers to the people I knew

Eyesight fading along with senses to hear and smell

Now memories shrink and their tempers swell

Our lives today are unlike our lives long gone

No one can escape the ageing phenomenon
