He Gives His Beloved Sleep
I worked for years
and had just 2 hours sleep at night. I always felt rested and ready to go again
the next morning. If I tried going to bed early my night would be plagued with
nightmares and other strange experiences. After over 20 years of sleeping for
just 2 hours at night, my system finally gave in. Now it’s a wreck and I must
get a minimum of 4 hours
Psalm 127:2
2 It is
vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of
sorrows;
For so He gives
His beloved sleep.

He Gives His Beloved Sleep How
many of us wait Every
night and go bed late Get
up early in the morning In
time to hear roosters crowing Very
often we sit in the dark of night Even
pondering on tasks for next daylight Sorrows
overwhelm us and they may Hamper
our sleep as time slips away It
is vain for you to rise up early Sit
up late and eat the breads of melancholy Bringing
a problem into your bed Erodes
rest and wears your body instead Lots
of us deliberate during the night Over
the tasks that didn’t come out right Venture
into the corners of our mind Exploring
the ideas that we may find Digging
deep and brushing aside Sleep
which is sometimes denied Laboring
sleeplessly is a mistake Endless
toil does not a good harvest make Every
success is the rewards of God’s blessing People
of God were given the night for sleeping |
